As we all know that leadership is about being of service to others, not being served by others. And in clear term, be a mentor and not a boss.
Generally, not has the capability to function as a leader, this is why we see numerous leaders fail, because they are always right, they also take credit for all success stories thereby denying all the efforts of the team.
And majority of these leaders are in for themselves because they often have trouble listening and are not big on people skills.
Leading Through Service
It is easy to spot this wonderful category of leaders from a mile away. And when you talk to a leader that is of service to others, they will make you feel important. Furthermore, they would as the humble question of what they can do for and not what they need from you.
Additionally, you should note that a leader that is driven by ego and power will make you feel as if they are more important than anybody else and they will tell you what they want from you.
Basically to be a leader you have to first serve in other to be served, many times, everyone looks at the gold attached to the position and not the pain and sacrifices. This is because we all have that mindset that the leadership position is a position in which one gets to and be merry and thereby forgetting the copious responsibilities attached to being a leader.
Just as Gandhi once stated the best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.
